Taliban-Saudi Deal on Oil and Gas Extraction Sparks Optimism
Former Pakistan envoy Manzoor Ahmad Khan has hailed the Taliban administration's new deal with Saudi Arabia-based Delta International in the oil and gas sector as a key development.
Khan, who served as Pakistan's ambassador to Kabul, made his comments on social media platform X after the Taliban's Ministry of Mines and Petroleum signed an oil and gas extraction contract with Delta International in Herat and Badghis provinces.
Khan emphasized that expanding engagement with Afghanistan, focusing on economic cooperation and people-to-people ties, could be an effective approach to achieving long-term peace and stability in Afghanistan and the region.
