Tanker Explodes in Strait of Hormuz After Deviating from Route

An explosion has occurred on an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz, according to Iranian media reports.

The tanker had deviated from its designated route and switched off its radar system, which may have contributed to the incident, according to Defapress and Tasnim news agencies, close to the Iranian military and Revolutionary Guards.

No confirmation has been received from US Central Command (CENTCOM) or the British maritime security authority UKMTO regarding the explosion.
