TAP Locks in Interconnection Capacity to Secure Southern Gas Corridor

The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) has confirmed its firm capacity allocations for September, ensuring the continuous flow of Azerbaijani natural gas into European markets as the continent braces for autumn energy demands. The pipeline, which forms the final leg of the Southern Gas Corridor, remains Europe's primary shield against supply volatility.

The Kipoi interconnection point on the Greece-Türkiye border recorded a firm capacity of 382.7 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) with average daily forward nominations locking in at 363.8 million kWh. This node serves as the crucial handover point from the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP).

The pipeline's operational data for September reveals sustained high-volume throughput across all major Greek and Italian interconnection points, including Melendugno with booked entry capacity of 327.7 million kWh.

According to the consortium's updated operational data, the precise capacity allocations demonstrate that the infrastructure is operating near optimal levels, moving gas efficiently from the Shah Deniz field in the Caspian Sea directly into the European grid without disruption.
