Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has outlined an ambitious economic plan for his country's future, focusing on modern agriculture and export growth.

Tebboune highlighted large-scale agricultural projects that utilize advanced technologies to produce high-quality crops with low pesticide use. He noted that Algerian produce is among the Mediterranean's best due to these practices.

The president also mentioned progress on a North-South railway connecting Tamanrasset, Adrar, El Meniaa, and In Salah, which is expected to be operational by the end of 2028. This infrastructure will boost development and lower transportation costs in Algeria.

Tebboune pointed out that his country has made significant gains in agriculture, citing its shift from importing products like garlic, onions, and potatoes to now exporting them. He also mentioned that Algeria could achieve self-sufficiency in durum wheat as early as this year, describing it as a 'historic' achievement since independence.
