Technip Energies Lands FEED Contract for Yan Offshore Regasification Terminal
Technip Energies has secured a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract for the Yan offshore regasification terminal project in Kedah, Malaysia. The scope of work includes assessing various regasification terminal configurations, completing the full FEED for the selected option, establishing the project's technical basis, and supporting progress toward a final investment decision.
The terminal, jointly developed by Gas Malaysia, Tokyo Gas Asia, and VTTI, will have a capacity of 6 million tonnes per annum. It will comprise an offshore floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), marine infrastructure, a subsea gas pipeline, and an onshore receiving facility.
The project, known as RGT Yan, is expected to introduce a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) entry point in the northern region of Peninsular Malaysia. It aims to strengthen the resilience and flexibility of the country's natural gas supply, support growing industrial and power demand, and contribute to energy security across the region.
