Teck Posts Strong Quarterly Results as Copper Prices Soar
Teck Resources Limited (TSX: TECK.A and TECK.B, NYSE: TECK) announced its unaudited second quarter results for 2026. The company's President and CEO, Jonathan Price, said they delivered another quarter of strong operational and financial performance, generating significant earnings and robust cash flow.
The results were driven by continued strong copper sales volumes, a favorable commodity price environment, and disciplined execution across operations. Adjusted EBITDA was $2.2 billion in Q2 2026, up $1.5 billion or 204% from the same period last year. Copper production volumes of 135,900 tonnes were 25% higher than the previous year.
The company's copper segment generated gross profit before depreciation and amortization of $1.8 billion in Q2 2026 compared to $673 million in the same period last year. QB delivered strong production for the third consecutive quarter, reflecting ongoing operational stability. The company's net cash unit costs decreased significantly compared to the previous year.
