Teck Resources Sees Tripling of Earnings on Copper Price Boost
Teck Resources has reported a significant increase in its earnings for the June quarter of 2026, thanks to high copper prices and production levels. The company's adjusted EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) reached C$2.2 billion, up more than 200% year-on-year.
The increase in earnings is largely attributed to the performance of Teck's Quebrada Blanca mine in Chile, which has been a major contributor to the company's overall production levels. The mine's output and high copper prices have combined to drive revenue growth for the quarter.
The news comes ahead of Teck's proposed merger with Anglo American, although it is unclear how this will impact the company's operations in the long term.
