Tehran and Islamabad Strengthen Energy Cooperation and Trade Ties
Tehran and Islamabad have strengthened their economic and energy cooperation efforts in recent weeks. Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad met with Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Pakistan's Interior Minister, to discuss expanding commercial and economic relations between the two countries.
The meeting focused on developing trade exchanges in the energy sector, where Iran and Pakistan have a long land border that can be utilized for transportation of petroleum products. Paknejad emphasized that this border is an advantage for both countries in terms of energy carrier exchanges.
The Oil Minister announced the formation of specialized working groups between Iran and Pakistan to follow up on major agreements in the field of energy carrier exchanges. He stated that these expert groups will travel from one country to another to discuss and finalize matters of mutual interest.
