Tengiz Field Boosts Kazakhstan Oil Production by 40%

Kazakhstan's oil production has surged by 40% after the restoration of output at the Tengiz field. The country's energy ministry did not comment on the increase, but data from a source familiar with the numbers showed that production rose to 2.08 million barrels per day, up from 1.49 million barrels per day in July.

The Tengiz field, operated by Chevron-led Tengizchevroil, accounted for much of this growth, reaching 903,000 barrels per day on Saturday, compared to an average of 784,000 barrels per day in July.

Kazakhstan's oil production had declined in July due to export restrictions on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, which manages over 80% of the country's oil exports. The Tengiz field is one of three major fields that make up this consortium, along with Kashagan and Karachaganak.

This increase brings Kazakhstan's oil production closer to its April record level of 2.17 million barrels per day.
