Tennessee Gas Prices Soar as Crude Oil Hits $100 Per Barrel
Tennessee's average gas price has risen by 11 cents over the past week, reaching $3.92 per gallon.
This increase is attributed to crude oil prices surging to over $100 per barrel last week after tensions intensified in the Middle East, according to Megan Cooper, a spokeswoman for AAA, The Auto Club Group.
The national average price for regular gasoline also rose 16 cents over the past week to $4.31, driven by the same climbing crude oil prices.
New data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration shows that gasoline demand dropped last week, while total domestic gasoline supply rose slightly and gasoline production fell.
