Tensions Between US and Iran Send Oil Prices Soaring
Oil prices surged to their highest levels in six weeks as tensions escalated between the US and Iran, with both nations exchanging attacks over the weekend.
Brent crude rose to $97.52 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate briefly surpassed $93 a barrel.
The spike followed fresh strikes on Saudi Aramco's oil facilities in Jizan, Saudi Arabia, and US military strikes on Iranian oil tankers linked to funding Iran's Revolutionary Guard.
