Tensions Ease as US Pauses Strikes Against Iran, Oil Prices Plummet

The Australian share market is expected to rise on Monday after the US paused its strikes against Iran and signaled that Tehran was holding back from retaliatory attacks.

Oil prices retreated as Brent crude, the international standard, fell by 3.9% to $96.78 per barrel.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 235.60 points, or 0.5%, to 51,947.25 on Friday, while the Nasdaq fell by 161.87 points, or 0.6%, to 24,975.82.
