Tensions Escalate: Oil Tankers Attacked in Strait of Hormuz
Two oil tankers were attacked in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday night, sparking concerns about energy supplies and sending Brent crude prices towards $92 a barrel.
The vessels, identified as the South Korean-owned Senegal Prosperity and the Saudi-owned Sidr, were hit while carrying crude out of the Gulf to international markets. The incidents come amid escalating tensions between the US and Iran.
According to maritime security analysts, one tanker was struck by three unidentified projectiles near the Omani coast. Communications in the Gulf remain limited, making it difficult to confirm the identities of the vessels involved.
