Tesla Breaks Ground on Northernmost Supercharger in Canada
Tesla has started construction on its Supercharger in Fort McMurray, Alberta, marking the beginning of an important milestone for electric vehicle (EV) expansion into Canada's oil and gas sector.
The new station will become the northernmost Supercharger in Canada once completed, extending Tesla's fast-charging network into one of the country's most remote regions. The Fort McMurray site is located at 9713 Hardin Street and was first added to Tesla's Find Us map in December 2024.
The construction process has made significant progress already, with the electrical transformer installed, which is often a major cause of delays for Supercharger projects due to utility coordination and long lead times. With this crucial piece in place, the remaining work can be completed more efficiently.
