Tether, the world's largest stablecoin issuer, has continued its aggressive gold buying spree, snapping up 14 metric tons in the second quarter. This marks a significant increase from the 6 tons purchased in the first quarter and brings Tether's total gold reserves to a record high of 146 tons.

The value of this gold is approximately $18.8 billion (about NT$610 billion), cementing its position as the largest non-bank, non-sovereign institutional investor in gold globally.

Despite gold prices remaining under pressure due to inflation fears and geopolitical conflicts, Tether accelerated its purchases amid price weakness, demonstrating a strong commitment to its gold allocation strategy.
