Texas Crude Oil Production Drops 11% in May 2026
According to the Texas Railroad Commission (RRC), the state's crude oil production for May 2026 was approximately 130 million barrels. This marks a decline from May 2025, when production stood at around 147 million barrels.
The RRC also reported that natural gas production in Texas for May 2026 was about 1.07 trillion cubic feet. In comparison, the total gas production in May 2025 was approximately 1.16 trillion cubic feet.
It's worth noting that crude oil production reported by the RRC only includes oil produced from oil leases and does not include condensate, which is reported separately.
