Texas Gas Prices Hold Steady Amid Elevated Crude Oil Costs
According to AAA Texas, the statewide average gas price in Texas has remained steady at $3.63 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel as of August 14th, with no change from last week's prices.
This is still 85 cents higher than this day last year, despite the summer travel season ending and a decrease in gasoline demand. However, elevated crude oil prices continue to limit any seasonal relief drivers might expect.
The current price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil has been trading in the low-$80-per-barrel range due to ongoing uncertainty surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, which is contributing to the high gas prices across the country.
