Texas Gas Prices Spike Ahead of Labor Day Weekend
Texas residents are bracing for yet another hike in gas prices ahead of Labor Day weekend. According to AAA Texas, regular unleaded gasoline now costs $3.69 per gallon on average, a 9-cent jump from last week.
El Paso remains the city with the highest prices at $3.97 per gallon, while Tyler has the lowest at $3.55 per gallon. The national average is even higher at $4.14 per gallon, leaving Texans paying nearly $1 more than they did this time last year.
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, warns that volatility in oil prices will continue in the coming weeks. Brent Crude oil currently costs $95.13 per barrel, while WTI Crude is at $90.95 per barrel.
