Thursday Corn Prices Slip Back Amid Mixed Export Sales Data

Corn prices are experiencing a decline on Thursday at midday, with contracts ranging from 2 to 3 cents lower. The national average Cash Corn price has dropped by 2 3/4 cents to $4.82 1/4.

The recent Export Sales data showed that 31,220 MT of old crop corn was sold in the week ending August 20, which is within estimates of a net reduction of 200,000 MT to net sales of 400,000 MT. This marks a marketing year low for old crop bookings.

New crop bookings were higher than expected, reaching 1.066 MMT, which falls within the estimated range of 0.6-1.6 MMT in that week. This represents a marketing year high for new crop bookings.
