Nigeria's President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) to intensify efforts in curbing gas flaring and convert the country's gas resources into economic benefits.

Tinubu made the call when NLNG's Board, led by its Managing Director and CEO Adeleye Falade, briefed him at the State House in Abuja on Wednesday.

The President commended NLNG for increasing its operational capacity and generating significant returns for its shareholders, but emphasized that greater attention must be paid to domestic utilization of gas resources.

Tinubu pledged to provide necessary incentives to enable NLNG to expand its capacity and maximize potential. He also urged the company to consider the needs of Nigerians, particularly in terms of energy requirements and pricing mechanisms.
