Titan Rides Festive Wave with 24% Q3 Revenue Growth
Titan Company, India's renowned jeweler and watchmaker, has reported an estimated 24% rise in revenue for its third quarter of the fiscal year. The growth is primarily driven by robust festive demand for jewelry, with the Diwali and Dussehra season witnessing a surge in gold purchases.
The company stated that jewelry, accounting for 87% of overall revenue, saw high single-digit growth in the number of buyers. This momentum follows a 22% revenue growth during the same quarter last year, solidifying Titan's position as a leader in the domestic jewelry market.
India, the world's second-largest gold consumer, witnessed an increase in gold demand due to key festivals and the wedding season coinciding with the government's decision to reduce import duties on bullion. The sales of plain gold items rose by 24%, while gold coins surged 48%, indicating consumers' continued confidence in gold as a secure investment option.
The strength of the festive season has offset the potential loss of ₹275-₹280 crore due to higher-cost inventory procured, allowing Titan to capitalize on the buying trend in India's luxury retail market. The watches and wearables segment also reported an increase in revenues of 15%, indicating steady demand across all categories.
