TotalEnergies Races to Bring New Angolan Discovery Online Within Three Months
TotalEnergies is accelerating its exploration efforts in Angola after making a new discovery offshore. The French supermajor has acquired an operated interest in two new exploration blocks, Blocks 17/25 and 32/21, located in the heart of the Lower Congo Basin.
The company announced that it will bring online the Acacia-5 discovery in Block 17 within just three months from its June discovery. This fast-track development will utilize available capacity on the nearby Pazflor FPSO, increasing oil production by 6,000 barrels per day (bpd) in Block 17.
TotalEnergies' Chairman and CEO Patrick Pouyanné stated that exploration is a key pillar of their ambition in Angola. He emphasized the importance of exploring further to unlock new resources and sustain a strong exploration effort across Angola's offshore basins.
