TotalEnergies to Boost Nigerian Oil Output by 140,000 bpd from 2027
TotalEnergies, a French energy giant, is set to boost Nigeria's oil output by 140,000 barrels per day (bpd) starting from 2027. The company's Deputy Managing Director, Victor Bandele, made the announcement at the recent Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition (NAICE) in Lagos.
The increase in oil output is expected to come from two projects: Ubeta deepwater project and Ima shallow water offshore field. While exact production capacities were not disclosed, industry sources indicate that each of the two gas projects can produce up to 70,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd), which translates to about 300 million standard cubic feet per day (scf/d) of gas.
The Ubeta field is located in Oil Mining Lease (OML) 58, approximately 80 kilometers offshore Port Harcourt. In contrast, the Ima Field is situated under the AMNI/TotalEnergies Joint Venture, also offshore Port Harcourt.
