TotalEnergies Trains 100 SMEs in Cabo Delgado Under CapacitaMoz Programme
TotalEnergies, the French oil and gas company leading the Mozambique LNG consortium in Palma district, Cabo Delgado province, has completed its fourth cycle of training for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) under the CapacitaMoz Business Development Programme. The programme has already trained 100 SMEs in the region.
The training provided by TotalEnergies focused on strategic management, accounting and finance, human resources, marketing, quality control, health, safety, and environment. Among the companies trained were 25 from the construction, transport, and logistics sectors.
Cabo Delgado Governor Valige Tauabo emphasized the importance of building local business capacity, stating that SMEs play a vital role in job creation, income generation, innovation, and economic growth. He expressed his desire for companies in Cabo Delgado to be increasingly prepared to take advantage of existing opportunities and participate effectively in supply chains.
According to Edna Simbine, Local Content Manager at TEPMA1, the four cycles of the programme have significantly improved management skills, internal organization, and competitiveness among beneficiary companies. Beyond the 100 companies trained under CapacitaMoz, an additional 267 SMEs in Cabo Delgado have benefited from technical assistance, international certification, and start-up initiatives.
