Trans Mountain Pipeline Reaches Full Capacity, Shifts Oil Exports Towards Asia
The Trans Mountain pipeline in Canada has reached full capacity for the first time in June, according to Oilprice. The pipeline transports 890,000 barrels per day from Alberta to British Columbia.
The operator plans to add 90,000 bpd in the fourth quarter and a further 210,000 bpd by the end of 2028, bringing total capacity to approximately 1.19 million bpd.
About two-thirds of tankers departing the Westridge Marine Terminal are currently bound for Asia, with China being the largest buyer, followed by India, Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam.
