Trekor Metals Stock Surges 6.89% on Copper Price Support
Trekor Metals' stock rose by 6.89% on the TSX, driven by its strong exposure to copper prices and improving operating performance.
The company has transitioned into a multi-asset copper producer with two operational assets: Gibraltar in British Columbia and Florence Copper in Arizona.
Florence Copper's production ramp-up is expected to significantly boost the company's revenue, with management targeting 30-35 million pounds of production in 2026. The asset produced over 5 million pounds of cathode during its first full production quarter in Q2 2026.
Gibraltar continues to provide a strong cash-flow base for the company, producing approximately 30 million pounds of copper during Q2. However, management notes that the mine will soon transition into more challenging transitional ore, which may pressure grades and recoveries.
