Trump Blames Iran for Saudi Oil Pipeline Attack, Predicts Conflict Will End Soon
US President Donald Trump has implicated Iran in the aerial attack on Saudi Arabia's East-West oil pipeline, saying 'I think they are, probably they are' responsible.
In a press conference in Dublin, Trump confirmed he had spoken with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, describing him as a 'good friend'. The US president also claimed that Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi movement had contacted his administration and indicated it did not want Washington to become directly involved in the conflict.
Trump further stated that the Houthis were allowing most vessels to pass through the Red Sea, except for ships belonging to one country with which they remained dissatisfied. He said the issue would be resolved.
The US president also predicted that the war with Iran could end 'very soon', stating that Tehran was attempting to prolong the conflict to influence upcoming elections.
