Trump Blames Iran for Saudi Pipeline Attack Ahead of Dublin Talks

US President Donald Trump said that Iran was 'probably' responsible for an aerial attack on Saudi Arabia's East-West pipeline, which shut down one of the kingdom's main routes for exporting crude oil.

The pipeline bypasses the Strait of Hormuz and is a vital conduit for Saudi exports. Trump made this statement during his visit to Dublin, where he met with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin to discuss issues of mutual interest.

Trump also spoke with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, whom he described as 'a good friend.' The US president noted that Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis had called the White House and expressed a preference for not having the United States directly involved in the conflict.
