Trump Calls Off Iran Attack, Announces New Talks

US President Donald Trump announced that talks with Iran would begin on Monday after he called off a planned attack, which he described as 'the biggest attack since World War II'. The decision to cancel the attack was reportedly made in response to pleas from US allies in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia.

'We're just going to see whether or not we can make a deal,' Trump said. He also stated that an agreement on reopening the Strait of Hormuz may be close and that he would continue to pursue a path to end Iran's nuclear program.

According to Bloomberg, Trump emphasized that 'I'm not looking to kill people.' The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) oil price fell 6.72% on the day to $79.38 in response to the news.
