Trump Cancellation of Iranian Strike Lifts Wall Street Futures
US stock futures gained on August 3 after President Donald Trump called off planned military strikes against Iran, easing tensions and lowering crude oil prices.
Dow futures increased by 413 points, or 0.8%, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 futures also rose, with the latter gaining 0.4%.
The cancellation of the strikes followed a week of intense military exchanges between the US and Iran, which had heightened concerns over supply disruptions in the Middle East.
Crude oil prices plummeted by more than 7%, with Brent crude falling to an intraday low of $81.55 per barrel, while WTI crude dropped to $78.95 per barrel.
