Trump Confirms Oil Flows Through Strait of Hormuz Amid Ongoing Tensions
US President Donald Trump confirmed on Thursday that millions of barrels of oil are continuing to flow through the Strait of Hormuz, despite ongoing tensions between the US and Iran.
Tensions have been running high in the region following a series of incidents involving Iranian vessels laying mines in the strategic waterway.
Trump said American forces had removed two vessels involved in laying mines, claiming that the strait is now open and under US control.
'We have the best minesweepers in the world,' Trump said. 'They're underwater minesweepers, and we've totally cleared the strait of mines.'
