Trump Demands Oil Giants Cut Gas Prices Amid Record Profits

US President Donald Trump has expressed his dissatisfaction with oil giants ExxonMobil and Chevron over their 'too much money' profits from higher fuel prices, calling on them to lower gasoline prices for consumers.

In a press conference held on Monday, three days after the companies reported record-breaking second-quarter earnings due to the ongoing conflict in Iran, Trump stated that both Exxon and Chevron were making 'too much money.'

The remarks come as a notable departure from Trump's usual support of the oil industry, which has welcomed his policies promoting increased domestic energy production.

Trump also took aim at Chevron Chief Executive Mike Wirth for failing to credit his administration's efforts in helping the oil industry during an appearance on Fox News' 'Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo.'
