Trump Orders Strikes on Iran After Missile Attack Sends Oil Prices Soaring
US President Donald Trump ordered military strikes on Iran after a missile attack targeting American forces in the Middle East. The strikes were a response to attempted Iranian attacks on US forces stationed across the region.
The Dow futures rose by 94 points, or 0.18%, to 51,859.00, while S&P 500 futures gained 20.00 points, or 0.27%, to 7,371.25 as of around 8:37 p.m. EDT.
In commodities, WTI crude oil slipped 0.36% to $84.16 per barrel, while Brent crude fell 0.79% to $90.02 per barrel. The US dollar index stood at 100.893, up 0.09% on the day.
