US President Donald Trump signaled a willingness to negotiate with Iran on Monday (27th), expressing sufficient patience to seek a new agreement, causing a sharp de-escalation in geopolitical tensions that sent international oil prices tumbling.

Brent crude futures plunged more than 8%, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures for September delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange plummeted $6.70, or 7.5%, to settle at $82.61 per barrel.

Trump's decision to pause strikes on Iran was reportedly influenced by countries mediating the situation asking him to give negotiations another chance, and he emphasized that 'time is running out' for a successful diplomatic effort, warning that US military ammunition stockpiles are ample and may be used if talks fail.
