Trump Points Fingers at Iran Over Saudi Oil Pipeline Attack
US President Donald Trump believes Iran is probably responsible for an aerial attack on Saudi Arabia's East-West oil pipeline, which transports crude to the Red Sea coast. The pipeline was temporarily shut down after drones launched from Iraq targeted it.
The attack caused injuries and damage, with the Saudi Foreign Ministry condemning what it called the targeting of the East-West pipeline in the Riyadh and Medina regions by several drones originating from Iraq.
Trump said Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi rebels had contacted his administration and indicated they did not want Washington to become directly involved in the conflict. The US president added that he spoke to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, whom he described as a 'good friend'.
