Trump Points Fingers at Iran Over Saudi Oil Pipeline Attack
US President Donald Trump believes Iran is likely responsible for an attack on Saudi Arabia's East-West Pipeline, which has resulted in its closure. The pipeline, a vital route for oil exports, was attacked by several drones coming from Iraq on Thursday.
The Saudi foreign ministry confirmed the attack and said it had been shut down as a precautionary measure. Trump made his comments while visiting Ireland on Saturday, stating 'I think they are, probably they are' when asked about Iran's involvement in the attack.
Trump also revealed that he had spoken with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, whom he referred to as a 'good friend', about the incident. The pipeline has become crucial for maintaining oil exports since the outbreak of the US-Iran conflict, with 5 million barrels per day being rerouted through it.
