Trump Points to Iran in Saudi Pipeline Attack
US President Donald Trump has pointed to Iran as 'probably' responsible for the attack on Saudi Arabia's East-West oil pipeline. The attack, which occurred on Thursday, caused injuries and resulted in the shutdown of the pipeline as a precautionary measure.
The US president made his comments during a visit to Dublin, where he expressed confidence that the situation would be resolved due to his relationship with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Trump also stated that Yemen's Houthi rebels 'don't want to fight with us', although Riyadh accused Iran-backed Houthis of launching attacks on its energy infrastructure from Iraqi territory.
The Gulf Co-operation Council condemned the attack in the strongest terms, calling for 'necessary, decisive measures' to prevent further attacks from being launched from Iraq. Other regional countries, including Qatar, Jordan, and Bahrain, also expressed their condemnation of the attack.
