Trump Posts AI-Generated Videos Showing Strikes on Khark Island

US President Donald Trump posted AI-generated videos on his Truth Social account showing strikes on Iran's Khark Island. The island is a key hub for Iran's oil exports, with over 90% of its oil passing through it before US-Israeli operations against the country began.

The videos depict missiles hitting structures along the coastline and fires and explosions across the area. Trump did not explain why he shared the videos, but described the island as being 'blown to pieces'. The US military made no announcements about any strikes on Khark Island on August 30.

Khark Island is located around 500 kilometers northwest of the Strait of Hormuz and has a critical role in Iran's oil export network. It can handle up to 950 million barrels of oil per year, with daily capacity estimated at approximately 7 million barrels.
