US President Donald Trump recently shared an AI-generated video claiming that Iran's oil hub on Kharg Island had been destroyed. However, Iranian officials denied the attack, saying that the situation on the island remained calm and operational.

According to Hamid Bovard, head of the National Iranian Oil Company, workers are continuing to repair previously damaged facilities and upgrade infrastructure, with no confirmation of an attack on Kharg emerging several hours after Trump's post.

The video analysis using software designed to detect generated images indicated that it was likely created by artificial intelligence. Before the war began, around 90% of Iran's oil exports passed through Kharg, making a strike on the island potentially disruptive to energy trade and pressuring Iran's economy.
