Trump Predicts End of Iran War Post-Midterms
President Donald Trump stated that the ongoing war with Iran will end immediately after the midterm elections, citing Iran's desperation to affect the election outcome and leave them alone.
The conflict between the US and Iran escalated this week, with the US targeting five Iranian oil carriers in response to IRGC targeting of a U.S. Navy warship. Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized that for every time Iran tries to hit U.S. naval ships, they will lose tankers.
Energy prices continued to climb, with Brent crude topping $100 a barrel on Wednesday and the national average for a gallon of gas reaching $4.22. Trump maintained that oil prices would fall when the conflict ends, predicting that prices would tumble 'right after the election' but taking 'a little bit longer than the midterms' for prices to fall below $2 a gallon.
