U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that oil prices will drop precipitously after the war with Iran ends, even as Brent crude prices have soared past $97 a barrel.

The president made this statement in a Truth Social post on Monday, reiterating his previous comments about gas prices falling when the U.S. wins the war with Iran.

However, analysts are warning that oil prices could surge to $115 a barrel by the end of the year due to ongoing tensions and escalating hostilities between the two countries.

Brett Erickson, Managing Principal at Obsidian Risk Advisors, believes that as the war continues, with no peace deal in sight, oil prices could reach this target.
