Trump Predicts Plummeting Oil Prices After Defeating Iran
US President Donald Trump claimed that oil and gas prices will plummet once the country defeats Iran in their ongoing war. In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, 'Oil prices will drop precipitously, like everything else is dropping (but more!), when we WIN the war with Iran.' He added that gas prices would reach as low as $2 per gallon.
The current average gas price in the US is $4.15 per gallon, while diesel has reached an all-time high of $5.90 per gallon. Oil prices have also increased on Tuesday, with Brent crude up by 1% to $97 per barrel and West Texas Intermediate up more than 1% to $92 per barrel.
The prediction comes as tensions between the US and Iran remain high. A top Iranian official, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, warned that US energy assets in the Middle East could be targeted in the near future, following a warning issued by Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth.
