'I think war is going to end immediately after the election because they can't hold out any longer,' Trump said, citing desperation on Iran's part to affect the election. The US has been at war with Iran for seven months with no immediate end in sight.
The renewed fighting between the two countries sent oil prices surging, breaching $100 a barrel for the first time since July. Trump acknowledged that diplomatic talks are still possible but not preferred, saying 'Yes, a negotiation could possibly happen, but it's not something we're looking at.'
