Trump-Putin Call Revives Hopes for Ukraine Diplomacy
Euronext wheat futures declined on Tuesday after news emerged of a phone call between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The call shifted market attention back to potential diplomatic solutions to end the Ukraine war and ease Black Sea grain trade disruptions.
The benchmark December wheat contract on Paris-based Euronext settled 1% lower at €247.25 ($287.30) per metric ton following the day session.
This development comes after markets had pushed prices higher following disappointment over the lack of progress during a weekend visit by U.S. envoys to Moscow and Kyiv.
