Trump-Putin Call Revives Hopes of Ukraine Conflict Resolution

Euronext wheat prices fell on Tuesday after news of a phone call between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin shifted market attention back to potential diplomatic solutions for the Ukraine conflict.

The December Euronext wheat contract settled 1% lower at €247.25 per metric ton, reversing course from Monday's gains that approached last week's high of €259.25.

This change in direction came after markets pushed prices higher following disappointment over the lack of progress during a weekend visit by US envoys to Moscow and Kyiv.

The call between Trump and Putin redirected focus toward a possible resolution of the conflict, which has lasted 4-1/2 years.
