Trump Rejects Talks with Iran, Keeps Oil Flows Through Strait
U.S. President Donald Trump has reiterated that his administration is not engaging in negotiations with Iran, labeling such talks 'a waste of time.'
In a statement on Wednesday evening, Trump emphasized that while the Iranians still have some capacity to fight, they have largely become a shadow of their former selves.
The U.S. has established a maritime corridor through the Strait of Hormuz to facilitate oil exports, with officials reporting that between 15 and 20 oil tankers cross the southern channel along the coast of Oman as part of an ongoing operation for weeks.
U.S. military officials revealed that exports through the strait are nearing 10 million barrels per day, with some nights reaching figures as high as 15 to 20 million barrels.
