President Donald Trump expressed dissatisfaction with major oil companies' excessive profits due to high oil prices. He stated that these companies are 'making too much money' and should give some back to the public, along with reducing retail prices.

Trump's comments came after he launched a war with Iran and the Strait of Hormuz was effectively closed to oil and natural gas tankers, resulting in increased energy prices. The president specifically mentioned Chevron and Exxon Mobil, saying they 'ought to give some of that back to the public'.

This is not the first time Trump has criticized oil companies for their profits. His predecessor, Democrat Joe Biden, also attacked them when inflation was a major issue with voters.
