Trump Teases Military Action Against Iran's Pickaxe Mountain Amid Escalating Tensions
President Donald Trump hinted at potential military action against Iran's Pickaxe Mountain, a site for nuclear centrifuge assembly, during his recent GOP midterm convention speech. He stated that 'there's another place called Pickaxe Mountain... We may have to give them a shot there, too, because somebody said there was a little movement at the site.'
Trump also floated the idea of naming the Strait of Hormuz after himself, saying 'I think we should call the Hormuz strait -- we should call it the Trump -- I should get something out of it -- the Trump Strait.'
The statement came as tensions between the US and Iran continue to escalate. The two countries have been exchanging strikes, with the strategic Strait of Hormuz serving as a key flashpoint.
Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi condemned the International Atomic Energy Agency's resolution on the country's nuclear program, calling it 'based on fabrications' and saying it will not achieve its intended purpose.
