In a statement, Trump claimed that Iran's leadership is 'unbelievably duplicitous,' saying they ask for talks but deny intentions publicly.
Trump also called on US oil firms to reduce retail prices for fuel, blaming the industry heads for not showing gratitude for the government's help in stabilizing the energy market.
The Strait of Hormuz remains a major concern, with nearly 20% of the world's oil passing through it. The US Central Command has facilitated over 1,000 merchant ships transiting through the strait since May.
