Trump Touts Alaska LNG Project Involvement with South Korea and Japan
U.S. President Donald Trump has again referenced South Korea and Japan in connection with the Alaska liquefied natural gas project.
During a recent event at the White House, Trump stated that 'You have Japan and South Korea. All of these people are going to Alaska to load fuel, to load oil, to build the pipeline and everything else.'
The comments come as POSCO International, a unit of POSCO Group, has expanded its involvement in the project, including acquiring a direct stake in the Alaska LNG venture.
Trump's remarks also touched on his support for Republican candidate Dan Sullivan in the upcoming Alaska federal Senate race. Trump praised Sullivan as 'a great senator' and claimed that 'Nobody has done more for Alaska than Donald Trump.'
